To pick chicks up, put one hand underneath and put the other hand on top of the chick to hold it gently but firmly. Chicks don't need feed or water the first 48 hours after hatching.

Proper ventilation, clean water, and a well balanced feed program will keep the chicks growing. While chicks are growing is the best time to build good body weight, vigor and vitality.
