Water Water is a valuable resource that should not be wasted:
Collect rain water into storage butts from the roof of huts or glass houses.
Retain moisture in the soil by using organic compost and mulches.
Watermelon Fresh watermelon may be eaten in a variety of ways and is also often used to flavour summer drinks. Compared with most fruits, the watermelon has a very high water content, and can be used to satisfy thirst.
White Tomato A variety of tomato that has a creamy white skin and inner flesh that is similar in taste to a red globe tomato.
It is not as readily available as other types of tomatoes, but is becoming increasingly popular in usage for salads and to complement various food dishes.
Wild Mushrooms A variety of mushrooms that are not cultivated commercially, but are gathered in the wild such as morel and chanterelle varieties.
Care must be taken when harvesting wild mushrooms because there are many poisonous varieties that have the same appearance as edible mushrooms.
