Tam O'Shanter Inn, High Street, Ayr

The Tam O'Shanter Inn is one of the few surviving thatched buildings in Ayr. The building has also been a museum in its time. The Tam O'Shanter Inn was immortalised in the legendary Burns poem, Tam O'Shanter. Established in 1749, the pub is Ayr's oldest licensed premises and attracts thirsty visitors looking to take a drop in the same bar as the great poet.
