Loch Doon Fishing
Loch Doon is a body of water, in Carrick, Scotland. Loch Doon is on the A713 south of Dalmellington. The River Doon issue from its northern end, while the loch itself receives waters from Loch Enoch via Eglin Lane.
The largest loch in Galloway, 6 miles long, with plenty of brown trout averaging 8oz. Also arctic charr, perch and large pike. No permits required.
There are often vans and motor homes that park on the shore of loch doon. Next to the dam are toilet facilities and a small cafe. There is a second cafe at the end of the loch near the castle. |
