Carrick Hills, Dunure, South Ayrshire

If you want a good view over Ayr the best is from Carrick Hills - which can be seen from the town with the radio masts at the top.

There are walking routes from the Burns Heritage Centre in Alloway. There are two ways to get to the top with a road from the east or west.

On a clear day the views are spectactular and you can see right up the Ayrshire coast, over the Firth of Clyde to Arran and sometimes Northern Ireland.

Directions: Carrick Hills are to the south of Ayr, near the coast. Follow the coastal road towards Dunure. It is signposted near Dunure.
